GEP Atlanta strengthened our clients spirit for 500 guests by creating an authentic artists’ studio event at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. A variety of artist supplies, realistic décor elements and creative lighting all combined to create a memorable night. Guests let their hair down and their imaginations run wild as the creativity flowed during this fun-filled event!
As they entered the hotel ballroom, each team discovered a table covered with brown Kraft paper and centered with art supplies. Each table featured pencils to sketch the design, water color paint sets with brushes, water color pads, colored pencils, oil pastels and a small table top easel to enhance the look of the table and to show off the final design.
In order to truly inspire guests, the artistic theme was enhanced with artistic décor and lighting elements. Each of the food buffets was set with primary colored lamour linen with accents of “paint splatter” linens. Over sized artists supplies truly brought the buffets to life!
Specialty lighting was custom designed for this event to add color and texture to the space and highlight the artistic theme. We used the hotel ballroom’s existing white ceiling panels as our “canvas”. Floor based lighting instruments projected bright art gobos onto the ceiling. Each ceiling panel featured two gobos of “paint splatter” and “brushstrokes”! To add to the theme of color – intelligent lighting instruments were used to offer slow moving, color changing light to the room. The colors changed through an artists’ palette of hot reds and yellows to cool blues and greens.
“Moving art” was applied to the perimeter walls of the hotel ballroom. Leaning against the walls were 10’ x 6’ empty gold frames. Intelligent lighting fixtures were used to project changing patterns and textures onto the walls in the frames. Periodically the lights were programmed so that the art “moved” from frame to frame!
After the event was over our staff organized all of the usable art supplies and donated them to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America in the client’s name.
