For this two day program GEP Philadelphia was asked to fully coordinate the client’s opening reception the first night and a client dinner the following evening.  GEP took the lead in handling the catering, entertainment, and décor for this a fun and creative event.

Working with the Marriott Downtown Hotel, GEP was able to create a replica of the streets of Philadelphia for about 700 guests during the opening reception.  Guests got to enjoy, taste and interact with special entertainment while they walked the streets of Colonial Philadelphia, South Philly, Chinatown and the Sports Complex.  Such sites as the Liberty Bell and the High Food Dog Statue were visible along this tour.  Guest had the opportunity to watch a candle making demonstration, get there fortune told and meet and greet the Philadelphia Phillies’ Phanatic mascot.  And what is a visit to Philly without sampling some of the best Philly Cheese Steak Sliders.

The next evening GEP transformed The Franklin Institute’s Franklin Hall into a stary night themed room for a client dinner of 170.  The evening started with a special, open only to Great West guests, the chance to walk the halls of an in-depth exhibit of the life of Cleopatra.  Next, guests were guided into a “Monet” like room filled with silvery stars, hints of violet and amber lighting for drinks, dinner and mingling.  A high-point during this dinner was a special musical guest performance from Boys II Men.
