If you’re feeling your next decade themed event needs a little push to take it from good to great, consider utilizing the entertainment to bring the vibe to a new level!
For example, if you’re creating a “roaring 20′s” scene, bring on speakeasy jazz bands, or utilize a DJ with ragtime records. Let guests know about the party theme before they pack so they can bring their best flapper gear!
In the 30′s it was all about big bands – bring in some professional swing dancers to entertain the crowd, or even teach a few steps!
The 40′s were embodied by the voice of Ella Fitzgerald and the moves of the Lindy hop and swing. Bring in a strong female vocalist and some great dancers to add some spice to the fabulous forties!
In the 50′s, doo wop was king – tell guests to wear their best “Grease” attire for a fun sock-hop feel or go the route of sultry jazz, blues and bebop! In either case, guests are sure to enjoy their evening in the era of optimism.
Lastly, bring in your favorite Rat Pack or Beatles band for a night in the 60′s. Bring an “old Hollywood glamour” with the Rat Pack, or an English invasion to follow Sgt. Pepper!
