A Washington, DC summer tradition, Screen on the Green takes place on select Monday evenings in July and August. Playing classic films beginning at dusk, the attendees of the screening begin to gather as early as 5:00pm! The festival will kick off its 13th year on July 16 with a screening of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Once in jeopardy of cancellation, supporters of Screen on the Green took to the Internet to protest and restored the event. The Washington City Paper recently named Screen on the Green the “best thing to come from a Facebook protest.”
