Our GEP Sales Team recently attended the Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders Conference, January 8th through 11that the San Diego Convention Center.
Cynthia Lavery, Megan Sherman and Danielle Pinto spent the week connecting with clients, networking with industry peers, and attending educational sessions.
Among the educational highlights were multiple presentations – including a general session – exploring attendee engagement through the lens of scientific research on the body andmind. Sessions on Sustainable Meetings were also plentiful and well attended – appropriate given the San Diego Convention Center’s role as an industry leader in sustainable practices, which was recognized by PCMA via the 2011 Environmental Leadership Award.
The standout networking activities were the annual give-back event, Party with a Purpose, hosted on board the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, and the Urban Convergence block party, a street fair in the historic Gaslamp District, headlined by Kool & the Gang.
Along with all that California sun, the GEP Team soaked up lots of fantastic initiatives and event ideas to take back to the East Coast!
